Chapter 255: Bully

“Where are you going in such a heavy rain! What a fool!” Third Aunt immediately glared at him.

Lian Ze felt depressed, the corners of his mouth twitching.
How could she say that he was a fool, this was really treating him as a child.

“Sister!” Lian Ze looked eagerly at Lian Fang Zhou.

Ah Jian said to her: “Since Ah Ze has said so and wants to handle it by himself, let him go!”

“How can he do it? How many miles is it! How can Ah Ze compare to you?” Third Aunt was very anxious.

Lian Ze frowned, his stubborn expression becoming even more depressed.

“Then you go! I think its almost time for school to end, so hurry up!” Lian Fang Zhou smiled and stopped Third Aunt, who had been about to say something.
“Let Ah Ze go, I don’t think it’s a big deal! The distance is neither close nor far and beside, its all flat roads so its easy to walk!”

Lian Ze, who promised to prepare clothes and rain gear, stomped his feet a little and his mouth curled again.
Yes, this is just a simple thing, just leave it to him! He was really distressed; everyone was treating him like a child!

However, his sister’s attitude was still good.
As long as he was serious about it, eventually it would be different, right?

Didn’t Third Aunt understand his thoughts? But since she still thought of Lian Ze as a child, these thoughts were still unreasonable!

So Third Aunt said angrily: “You’ve all agreed so I can’t do anything! Look, he’s ready to go by himself, he really listens to you!” This was said with a touch of jealousy.

Ah Jian said, “Third Aunt, Ah Ze is actually very responsible when doing things, so don’t worry! He is not so young anymore; he should try to do somethings independently.
You can’t rely on Lian Fang Zhou for everything.”

Third Aunt was dumbstruck while Lian Ze was refreshed.

As soon as he was ready, he called goodbye and hurried out the door in a fur coat and hat.
He shook the whip and drove the cart out.

After almost an hour, he and Lian Che returned with damp bodies and wet sleeves.

Lian Fang Qing had sat under the eaves of the porch with the little wolf in her arms the entire time, waiting.
When she saw the donkey cart entering the yard, she hurriedly jumped to her feet and shouted with joy.
“Second brother and third brother are back!” She raised her voice and shouted hello at Lian Ze and Lian Che.

Lian Fang Zhou and the others were relieved.
Third Aunt smiled and said, “It’s fine if you are back, I was really worried after you were gone for so long! It’s good that you’ve returned, there is hot water in the kitchen for you to wash up with.”

Lian Che greeted everyone and then hurried to change clothes.

Lian Ze said a few more words to the others and then also went to change clothes.

When the two brothers came out, Lian Fang Zhou suddenly looked at Lian Che a little more carefully.
Lian Che looked a little numb and reluctantly laughed: “Sister, why are you looking at me like that?”

“Nothing!” Lian Fang Zhou retracted her gaze and smiled, “Are you okay?”

Lian Che clenched his hands and his face muscles throbbed so hard he almost couldn’t stand it but he shook his head like a little rattle and smiled quickly: “It’s okay, it’s okay, I’m fine!”

“What is fine?” Third Aunt came in from the kitchen and stared, “It’s okay but if you’re soaked, you should be careful of the wind and cold! On days like this, you are most vulnerable! Come, you two, drink a bowl of ginger soup, drink it quickly!”

After listening to Third Aunt, Lian Che’s tight body secretly relaxed.
Lian Ze smiled and thanked her, taking his bowl.

Lian Fang Zhou smiled and stood up.
“You two take a good rest, I’m going to cook.”

Lian Ze and Lian Che quietly exchanged a look, relieved that Lian Fang Zhou had not noticed anything.

Lian Fang Zhou did not ask them anything for the rest of the night.
She just pulled Ah Jian aside after dinner and said softly: “Che’er clearly had something happen.
Maybe he was bullied by the other students? But those two brothers refused to tell me and I don’t want to ask.
Ah Jian, can you help me? Maybe Ah Ze will be willing to talk to you?”

Lian Fang Zhou frowned slighted and continued: “I should have thought of it a long time ago.
Children at this age are the most mischievous and troublesome.
For us country folk, which family has a safe and honest child? Che’er is a new student.
Not only was he born thin and gentle, he was loved and praised by his teacher as soon as he arrived.
There will be not one student who would find him pleasing to their eyes!”

Ah Jian didn’t seem surprised at this.
Instead, he raised his eyebrows and smiled.
Interested, he asked: “Che’er didn’t seem upset after his first day of school, why do you say that it is different today?”

Lian Fang Zhou snorted softly, glaring at him: “Do you think I’m a fool? Although he tried to hide it when he came in, I still saw that his robe was very wet and there were obvious wrinkles in many places.
And his shoes were wet but had no mud! Have you ever seen shoes like that? They were obviously too clean to be just wet from the rain, they were clearly cleaned by the river.
I don’t know who did this, but something must have happened!”

Lian Fang Zhou gave Ah Jian an annoyed look, saying dully: “They won’t tell me of course, and they won’t tell Third Aunt.
It would be better if they could ask you for help, but I’m the one asking.”

Ah Jian chuckled and said amused: “Since they don’t even want to talk to you, why would they tell me?”

Lian Fang Zhou was taken aback.
After a moment, she said: “This is different! They won’t tell me but if you ask, they will tell you.
Ah Ze would definitely not lie to you!”

Listening to her jealous tone, Ah Jian couldn’t help but feel complacent.
The corners of his mouth twitched and nodded, chuckling: “Alright, I’ll help you ask!”

Lian Fang Zhou just smiled and thanked him gently.

Sure enough, Lian Ze did not hide it from Ah Jian but asked him not to tell Lian Fang Zhou.

Ah Jian agreed and then immediately turned around to spill the beans to Lian Fang Zhou.

As she had thought, Lian Che was being bullied by three of four wicked classmates from Linjia and Yangjia village.

According to him, it usually was just them taking the opportunity to be cynical and mock him but they hadn’t been too far out of line.
Lian Che had also been very careful and guarded, not telling anyone.

However, today it had been raining very heavily and when school was finished, Yang Wen Xiao and Yang Wen Zhong, both from Yangjia village, had taken the initiative to come up with smiles and suggest they go home together.

Lian Che had originally refused but the two of them were too enthusiastic and he couldn’t resist them half dragging him away.
Just out of Linjia village, they walked past a mud pit.
The two boys had unexpectedly bent and shoved their elbows, pushing with their legs, until Lian Che fell into the mud pit.
He fell severely from a height of about half a body and his clothes had become stained by the yellow mud.

TN: LFZ and AJ are dealing with parenthood and they haven’t even confessed yet! Also, poor Third Aunt.
Its obvious that she doesn’t want any of the kids to grow up and not need her anymore.
Once they get married and have babies, will there be any room for her?
