Ch 30 – Second Generation Ancestor x Illegitimate Child: Tucking Him Away in a Golden House1

It was dusk outside of the window when Lin Sui opened his eyes, with only a little light from the setting sun shining in the distance, covering the room in a pale golden layer, casting dark shadows.

Apart from him, there was not a soul in sight inside the room, there was only a roomba diligently doing its work.

This was a large, luxurious flat-storey residence with no blocked off rooms aside from the bathroom, both the living room and the bedroom were connected with no walls between them, and it was filled with smart home technology.

Lin Sui raised his hand and saw the pale gold bracelet tied to his wrist, it was decorated just like the one he had designed many years ago, but the material was different, and the engraving on it was also different.

——‘秦’, Qin.

Lin Sui’s neck was absolutely empty.
The slender chain that had bound him yesterday was also golden, and it had been wrapped around the bedpost like an ornament.

Perhaps Yan Qin had gone out in a hurry, or perhaps he’d done it deliberately, but the chain still had some dried-up, white stains on it.
Lin Sui tore the chain down and threw it into the nearby rubbish bin.

The rubbish bin closed obediently, looking exactly like a certain someone after he’d eaten his fill earlier today.

Lin Sui’s body felt fresh and cool, but that didn’t stop his face from being covered with a dark cloud.

It was a short walk to go to the washroom, but it took Lin Sui a full five minutes to get there.
He was having difficulty walking and, by the time he arrived, his forehead was dripping with cold sweat.

Blue veins protruded on the hand he was using to hold the cup, but Lin Sui kept his composure as he washed his face and rinsed his mouth.
He was not in the habit of using other things to vent his anger, so he endured and endured, stopping himself from grabbing the cup in his hand and smashing it into the built-in mirror in front of him.

Yan Qin had clearly carefully considered how to lock him up.
There were no sharp tools that could be used as weapons inside the house, all the cutting tools had been locked up and the cups were all made from light materials, even the glass was all protected with a thin layer of transparent material, and the windows had been sealed shut in a way that would be difficult to open by hand.

There was food inside the kitchen hotbox.
Yan Qin had left a note, Lin Sui glanced at it and didn’t move it, turning around and walking around the house instead, until finally returning to the dining room.

Just walking around had depleted his strength a bit too much, so he sat down on the soft cushion and began eating with a frown.

He’d already begun to reminisce about the cultivation world, so much so that he felt the human cauldron constitution was not entirely without its merits, since although he would still be uncomfortable if Yan Qin was too rough, at least it wouldn’t be this bad.

The System looked at Lin Sui, who was about to snap his chopsticks, and spoke with an unconcealed glee in its voice: [How does it feel to get what you wanted?]

It had crossed swords with Lin Sui so many times and was rarely able to win the upper hand, so it didn’t need to mention how happy seeing Lin Sui reap what he had sown made it.

Even though the source of this joy should be the source of its suffering, it had already become gradually twisted under Lin Sui’s torment, so now even in these circumstances, as long as Lin Sui was suffering, it would also be happy.

Lin Sui was originally not in a very good mood, but suddenly hearing these words actually made him feel like the discomfort in his body had eased a lot.

[Extremely good, thank you for your concern, mother-in-law.]

Lin Sui made it sound like he was a new bride in a feudal dynasty going to offer tea to his mother-in-law on the second day of the marriage, but had overslept before arriving, yet still responded with a smile when faced with his mother-in-law’s scolding.

The System choked up, disgusted to the extreme.

[When do you plan on getting out?]

The System changed the topic, it could see a few things even if it didn’t often understand the deeper meaning behind Lin Sui’s actions.

If it were a cultivator with a weaker soul, the System would easily be able to read their thoughts, but unfortunately the one it met was Lin Sui, so even if it was in Lin Sui’s spiritual platform, it could not pry into his thoughts unless Lin Sui was slacking off.

It had only just realised that Lin Sui had long since been prepared for all this, it felt like he was a little scary, but it had no other choice than to endure its unease and carry on.

Lin Sui didn’t answer its words, instead he said: [How much did you see last night?]

Lin Sui didn’t think the System had a blocking function, and although he didn’t particularly care if the System had watched, he was still a little displeased.

[What are you asking????]

The System was shocked, it spoke as if it had been humiliated: [Did you think I would watch?!]

[I don’t care at all!]

The System did not have any impure thoughts2, so when it saw the situation, there simply was no possibility for it to feel embarrassed.
It only felt angry, angry that the Son of Fortune had once again taken the wrong path and it had no way to prevent it, so it simply looked away.
Out of sight, out of mind.

[Oh.]

Compared to the System’s overexcitement, Lin Sui was particularly calm, he even continued eating in a rather fine mood.

The congee Yan Qin had prepared for him was very soft and glutinous.

After Lin Sui finished eating, he rested for a while in the hanging basket chair3.
There was a bookcase in the living room with books spread out on top of it, as if worried Lin Sui would be bored and inviting him to use them as a diversion.

Lin Sui’s cellphone was not by his side, and although the room was filled with smart technology, he couldn’t find a single trace of a computer, and the main door wouldn't budge.

The soundproofing in the place was also excellent, in addition, it seemed to be in a remote location.

When a man like Yan Qin did something like this, he was naturally prepared for everything.

Inside a tall building, Yan Qin looked at the scene of Lin Sui reading a book with his head bowed on the screen with a gentle expression.

“Then it’s settled.
Mr.
Yan’s contributions to the success of this project won’t go unnoticed, I’ll invite you for a meal another day.
You and my brother are old friends, you can get together then.”

Lin Min looked at the sitting man and smiled.

She could already foresee the huge benefits that would come from the completed implementation of the project, and she regarded Yan Qin with all the more appreciation, even treating him as half a sister-in-law… no, half a brother-in-law in her heart.

There was no need to question the fact that there was something between Lin Sui and Yan Qin.
Lin Min recalled the words that Lin Sui had said once, and combined with that atmosphere between Lin Sui and Yan Qin in which no one else could interfere, she thought that it was just a matter of time before Yan Qin became family.

“I’m extremely honoured, I’ll make sure to be there when you invite me.”

The corners of Yan Qin’s mouth rose, and his expression became more and more soft when he saw Lin Sui’s face on the screen.

There was no trace of guilt on his face from keeping the other’s family to himself, and his smile deepened even more when he looked the marks on his wrist from where Lin Sui had bit him last night.

He wasn’t worried that Lin Sui would be able to contact other people since, although the home’s internet was running as usual, he’d placed a signal jammer outside, making it a place absolutely isolated from the outside world.
Yan Qin hoped his captive master would be able to live somewhat comfortably inside.

Recently, the System had been in a very bad mood, all because of that disappointing Son of Fortune.

It had originally thought that someone as temperamental as Lin Sui would certainly make a ruckus about being locked up, he would not be able to resign to his fate and neither would he willingly become a plaything, so when the time came the two of them would just torture each other with their sadomasochistic love, and it would be best for them to part in different directions.
That would simply be the best.

But in actuality… the young man was currently watching TV, half-laying down on the sofa, and Yan Qin was sitting next to him, peeling and feeding him grapes.
There was no need for Lin Sui to move since Yan Qin was working hard without complaint, putting the grapes in his mouth and receiving the grape seeds he spat out in a paper towel.

Not only that, Yan Qin insisted on preparing different fancy meals for Lin Sui every day and rubbing Lin Sui’s feet at night, living with even more piety than the husbands from the Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars4.
This was completely different from the forced love the System had imagined, aside from not having his freedom, Lin Sui’s life was no different from before.

But not having freedom was probably the biggest difference.
The system impatiently asked: [Are you really not planning on leaving? Are you just going to spend the rest of your life like this with him?]

Lin Sui spoke lazily: [What’s wrong with this? There’s someone rushing to serve me.]

But, having said that, Lin Sui straightened up and grabbed Yan Qin’s wrist, rejecting the grape he’d brought to his lips.

The System still had a certain understanding of him, if this hadn’t been Yan Qin, Lin Sui wouldn’t even be able to endure for a few minutes, let alone several days.

“It’s been almost a week, shouldn’t you have had your fun already? When are you planning on letting me out?”

“Does A-Sui want to go out for a stroll?”

Yan Qin looked calm, changing the meaning of Lin Sui’s words.

“I might be able to spare some time soon, so I’ll take you to go relax in an island in a few days, okay?”

Yan Qin wrapped the paper towel around the grape seeds and threw it into the trash, one hand still fiddling with a grape.

It seemed like he was coaxing his lover, watching Lin Sui’s cold eyes with a smile.

“It’s already been a week, do you really think the Lin family won’t have questions?”

“What does A-Sui have to do with the Lin family? Young master Lin is having fun outside, the one in here is just A-Sui.”

Yan Qin brought the grape to Lin Sui’s lips, half forcing it inside his mouth and running his fingertips over the soft redness, then reached out to lick the wetness on his fingers.

“These grapes are quite sweet, let’s buy more tomorrow.”

“What did you do?”

The overly sweet grape juice flooded his mouth, and Lin Sui sucked on the grape seeds with a slight frown.

According to the current progress, even if the collective Lin family stupidly handed over the knife to Yan Qin, it should be impossible for Yan Qin to annex the Lin family’s industry.

As for the meaning behind Yan Qin’s words, it seems that he found someone to stand in for him?

But Lin Sui didn’t think the Lin family was stupid enough to not see the differences in appearance and personality, even if other people wouldn’t know, Lin Min would definitely know.

Yan Qin took out a tissue and calmly wiped off the sticky grape juice running down his fingers, then placed his hand in front of Lin Sui, motioning for him to spit out those grape seeds he couldn’t swallow.

“If the young master wants to know, just think of a way to get the answer.”

The System collapsed from anger in Lin Sui’s spiritual platform, the Son of Fortune had a bit of character at this moment, but couldn’t he also be strong-willed outside of this? When Lin Sui said no in bed, he was stubborn, so why couldn’t he be the same outside of the bed?

It was furious, it absolutely did not want to watch, blocked!

Lin Sui didn’t know about the System’s mental activity.
He certainly knew that he could easily get the answer from Yan Qin’s mouth, but since Yan Qin had said so, he was wilfully not going to do it.

Lin Sui scoffed lightly, seemingly mocking Yan Qin’s wild fantasies.
His line of sight shifted from Yan Qin’s body to the TV, ignoring the hand Yan Qin had extended in front of his face, looking for the rubbish bin so he could spit out the grape seeds in his mouth.

Although he didn’t know what method Yan Qin had used to make the Lin family not suspect anything about his disappearance, it didn’t actually matter.

The Lin family was not his trump card, and Yan Qin still knew nothing about the cards up his sleeve.

“Is the young master really not interested at all?”

Yan Qin obstructed Lin Sui’s view of the TV as he leaned against the sofa and played with Lin Sui’s feet.

The sound of laughter came from the variety show on the TV, and the sound of cloth rubbing was extremely vague.

Lin Sui didn’t pay any attention to Yan Qin, regarding him as air.

Yan Qin found it most difficult to endure when he was like this, he would rather Lin Sui belittle and insult him than not look at him at all.

“Do you want to send me to the hospital?”

Lin Sui frowned, he spent most of his time sleeping from being repeatedly tossed around every day, and he was concerned for the state of his body.

“Don’t worry, A-Sui, I’ll just kiss it, just like how you taught me the first time.”

No matter what he did, Yan Qin was an extremely talented person.
