Chapter 508: Actually, she still minds

TN: More discussion of the previous assault in this chapter.

Lian Fang Zhou smiled and said: “I don’t need anything else, but if anyone tries to talk to you about it, you can just scold Madam Qiao.”

That’s fine! That was what Third Aunt was good at! Her eyes lit up with a ‘swish’ and she nodded solemnly: “I will! I will scold her to death!”

Lian Fang Zhou smiled.

“You go out first.
I’m a little tired and I want to rest.” Though she was still smiling, she suddenly felt very tired.

Thinking of the scene just now, she felt sick.
In fact, she cared very much.
She was a normal woman, after all.

No woman could remain calm after encountering such a thing, it wasn’t an insignificant incident.

Third Aunt let out a long sigh and opened her mouth but nothing came out.
Finally, she nodded and said: “Okay, I will go out first.
You should have a good rest.
What do you want to eat tonight? I will make it for you?”

Lian Fang Zhou’s chest feels a little stuffy and she uncomfortable all over.
She didn’t have an appetite at all.
Hearing Third Aunt mention food, she felt nauseous.

She shook her head.
“I’ll let you know when I’m hungry, I just want to rest.
If I don’t come down, just let me sleep.”

“You, ah.” Third Aunt sighed again.
“Okay, you rest.”

Suddenly, Third Aunt glared at Ah Jian: “I think the marriage between you two should be done soon! You’re not young anymore!”

Lian Fang Zhou’s mind crashed and Ah Jian’s eyes went wide, too surprised to respond.

Neither of them expected Third Aunt to say this and were caught by surprise.

Third Aunt mistakenly thought that Ah Jian was hesitating after what had just happened and immediately scolded him: “Ah Jian! You don’t despise Fang Zhou, do you? Fang Zhou saved you—!”

“Third Aunt!” Lian Fang Zhou hurriedly interrupted her, giving her a slightly reproachful look.

Although she knew that Ah Jian didn’t care, she felt awkward hearing Third Aunt’s kind reminder.

Ah Jian squeezed her hand firmly and smiled at Third Aunt.
“It is time we get married! We will get married as soon as her filial piety period is finished.
Don’t worry, why would I despise her? I would never be disgusted, no matter what happens!”

“Really?” Third Aunt was surprised and delighted.

“Of course it’s true!” Ah Jian smiled.

“Good! That’s great!” Third Aunt clapped her hands happily.
“I’m relieved to hear you say that.
It’s good that Fang Zhou and I did not misjudge you! Ah Jian, you are different than those people…”

Seeing that Third Aunt was starting to ramble, Lian Fang Zhou gently drove her out without waiting for her to finish speaking.

Ah Jian looked very happy.
“This is good, we don’t have to hide anymore! Fang Zhou, lets get married quickly and save ourselves from those messy people, scheming and plotting.”

Lian Fang Zhou smiled, humming softly.
After a moment, she raised her head and asked quietly: “You really don’t mind?”

How many men would not mind this kind of thing? Lian Fang Zhou didn’t think there was one!

“Why would I mind?” Ah Jian looked surprised.
“Don’t you know what kind of person I am? I just regret that I did not come earlier, so you wouldn’t have been so frightened.”

Lian Fang Zhou’s eyes were moist.
Shaking her head lightly, she said in a soft voice: “You don’t mind now but maybe in the future… maybe you will get tried of me and want to settle old scores…”

“No!” Ah Jian’s heart clenched.
He hugged her tightly and whispered into her ear: “Fang Zhou, what are you thinking in your head? If I could take my heart out and give it to you, I would be willing! But you don’t believe me?”

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Lian Fang Zhou froze, her heart aching.
It was as if she had lost all of her strength at once.
Hugging Ah Jian tightly, she snuggled into his arms.

Softly, she said: “Ah Jian, I was so afraid! So afraid, I thought I didn’t care.
That I wouldn’t care about it, but I was actually so scared…”

Ah Jian’s heart was breaking, furious and full of love.
Hugging her tightly, he lowered his head and kissed her on the forehead.  “Fang Zhou, I am here.
I will always be here, don’t be afraid! They deserve to die, you should never have to be afraid.”

A sheen of ice suddenly appeared in Ah Jian’s eyes.

He really wanted to keep talking but thinking about her mental state, he held back.
“You rest first.
We can talk more when you wake up.” Ah Jian said softly.
“I’ll stay here with you, okay?”

Lian Fang Zhou did not want him to leave.
Even though she knew nothing would happen, the shadow in her heart could not be eliminated so quickly.

Every time she thought about what had just happened, her mind was filed with shock and anger but she had no energy to deal with it.

That scene played over and over in her head, like waves rushing to the shore.
Wave after wave endlessly washing away her sanity.
The more she thought about it, the more unbearable it became.
She didn’t want to think about it but couldn’t stop.

Ah Jian helped her onto the bed and said softly: “Close your eyes and sleep.
I will watch over you by your side.”

Relieved, Lian Fang Zhou smiled gratefully and nodded.

Fully clothed, she lay down on the bed, so tired that she didn’t want to move.
But she didn’t feel sleepy at all.

The more unwilling she was to think about it, the more clearly she remembers.
Tossing and turning, she felt very annoyed.

Ah Jian sat at the table and watched her silently.
Finally, he couldn’t stand it anymore and got up.
Sitting at the edge of the bed, he asked: “You can’t sleep? If you can’t sleep, then don’t.
Get up and sit at the table.
Do you want some tea? It’s cold, I will get you some fresh tea.”

“Don’t go!” Lian Fang Zhou grabbed him like a drowning man and forced a smile.
“I’m not thirsty, I don’t need a drink! Ah Jian, can you sit with me a while?”

Ah Jian stared at her deeply and nodded.

Lian Fang Zhou hugged his arm and leaned against his shoulder, laughing at herself.
“I comforted Su Xin’er before, thinking that if that happened to me, it would be nothing.
It’s just a dog bite, it’s nothing worth worrying about.
But now that it’s happened to me, I can’t let it go.”

What happened, happened and it was disgusting, even though everything turned out alright.
In short, there would always be unpleasant emotions left behind.

“You did good!” Ah Jian stretched out his hand to embrace her and said softly: “You’re a woman.
If you didn’t feel any discomfort, it wouldn’t be normal.
You’ll feel better in a few days.”
