Gamamaru, The Great Toad Sage, sits higher than any other seat in the hall. The two Great Sage Toads of Mount Myoboku, Fukasaku and Shima, entered the hall and came to Gamamaru. Looking at him sleeping, they looked at each other and decided to wait for the Great Toad Sage to wake up.

After waiting for some time, the Great Toad Sage opens his eyes and looks at Fukasaku and Shima. Fukasaku and Shima salute.

”What are you doing here children? ”

Shima who lost her patience shouted, ”you called us, you senile old fart ”

Fukasaku shouts at Shima, ”old fart?! Ma! Don call the Great Sage an old fart ”

Gamamaru calms them by saying, ”No fighting among children, a husband and wife should be kind to each other. Now then… why are you here? ”

Shima snorts; Fukasaku, ”Great Sage, you want to tell us something? ”

Gamamaru, ”oh yes, yes, yes! I have a dream, a very strange dream… ” and Gamamaru closed his eyes.

Fukasaku and Shima look at each other in surprise. The Great Toad Sages dreams are always about the future and they were prophecies. They perked their ears to listen to what Great Toad Sage is going to say next. They wait for Gamamaru to speak but The Great Toad Sage seems to have fallen asleep. After a minute of waiting, they realize he fell asleep again.

Fukasaku shouts, ”Great sage…! ”

Gamamaru opens his eyes, ”why are you here, children? ”

Fukasaku and Shima sigh, ”You are telling us about your dream, Great Sage ”

Gamamaru, ”oh yes, in my dream I saw a dead person come back alive and fight parasites with god powers. ”

Fukasaku and Shima awed and whispered, ”Dead person! Come back alive! ”

They look at Gamamaru and Fukasaku asks, ”A dead person coming back alive? Is that even possible? ”

Gamamaru smiles, ”ho ho ho, life and death are concepts of life where the soul exists. ”

Fukasaku and Shima nod their heads as though they have learned a new concept. Fukasaku asks the Great Toad Sage, ”who is that man, Great Sage? ”

Gamamaru, ”He who has seen the future will fight parasites with god powers. ”

Fukasaku and Shima were stunned by the words of Gamamaru.

”Seen the future? Isn that the same as your power, Great Sage? ”

But Gamamaru seems to have fallen asleep again. Seeing him not reply they decided not to pursue any further and turned to leave.

—————— Present: KONOHA TRANING GROUND ————————-

Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram ”Summoning Jutsu ”

As I was about to hold his hand and stop him, a large cloud of smoke engulfed us. After the smoke cleared, our surroundings were changed.

This is not our training ground or anywhere near Konoha. This place gives a different vibe than Konoha and I am feeling more weight pressing on my body than in Konoha. This is legendary Mount Myoboku, one of the three Sage Lands, which is full of natural chakra compared to elemental nations.

”Boom… ” a loud sound that almost caused our ears to ring and a lot of dust filled our vision. The next second, a large gale swept away the dust along with us and cleared our surroundings. But I hold on to the nearest tree with one hand and Jiraya with another in order not to be swept away.

The loud sounds caught my attention. A 10-meter-high toad with a sword in his hand attacks a 20-meter-long snake that can wound three times. The toad is jumping around to avoid a snake bite and swinging the sword to cut the snake. Occasionally, toad tires land on snakes to crush them. As the snake avoids the sword and the toad lands, it is trying to catch the toad with its venom-dripping fangs while avoiding the sword.

As Jiraya and I stood on top of the tallest tree, we watched the battle unfold. Jiraya jumped towards the battle next to me. I want to hold him, but he jumped away before I could hold him.

Looking at his guts to interfere in such a battle, my tongue slipped thoughts, ”he has guts. Thats for sure. ”

Jiraya jumped into a battleground. Seeing him, the snake swings its tail as though hitting the buzzing fly in the ear without thinking. Jiraya opens his arms wide at the incoming tail and tries to hold it as it approaches.

The tail hit him, spreading dust into the air. The tail stops moving when it hits the ground. Snake struggled to move the tail but it didn move at all. Soon the dust cleared, and Jiraya who was holding its tail tightly grabbed it and pulled it towards him. Jiraya swings the snake around three times before throwing it into the sky. The snake flies like a projectile into the sky and disappears.

Seeing his ability to throw away the snake, I thought, his is one of Sanins legends. I assume this version of Jiraya is much stronger than the original Narutos Jiraya.

I jumped next to Jiraya. The toad Gamabunta is staring at us, ”hmm… human children on Mount Myoboku. ”

Jiraya was baffled, ”talking toad… ”

Seeing his baffled face, haa… same old Jiraya is back again. I pat his shoulder, ”Jiraya this is ninja toad. To put it simply they were like us, trained ninjas. ”

”Hoo… they are like us, too, ” Jiraya says.

Gamabunta, ”oy… oy… to think, humans would really come to Mount Myoboku. ”

My fuse blows out and my breathing becomes faster as I listen to him. I forced my breath to calm down and thought about what Fukasaku sama said.

” ”One who guides the savior ” is Jiraya. Therefore, ”one who has seen the future ” will be me. That means the Great Toad Sage already knows about me. Since they know about me, there is no need for me to hide in the dark.

While I am thinking Jiraya, ”you are talking as though you are expecting us. ”

Fukasaku sama, ”yes, I know you were coming. The Great Toad Sage predicted it. ”Two human children stumbled into Mount Myoboku and wielded the power of the toad to protect the future ” that s what The Great Toad Sage said and you appeared now. ”

Jiraya was surprised, ”so… which is my prophecy out of two…? ”

I felt chills after Jiraya asked a sudden question and looked at Fukasaku-sama. Looking at my miserable expression, ”well… I don know. ”

I felt relieved for not exposing myself, while Jiraya was depressed and mumbled, ”don know… ”

Fukasaku sama continued, ”you both will stay here and train, wait for The Great Toad Sage prophecy. So, be ready for training. This is your destiny! ”

I mumbled, ”Destiny? ”

is it true destiny, a fate that exists, And what is my destiny with the memories of the future?

Fukasaku sama, ”yes, you managed to reach Mount Myoboku. This is proof that you are indeed chosen one. ”

This is how we begin our training to inherit the power of toads, the Sage training. On the following day, we returned to Konoha to inform everyone of the situation and seek permission to continue training in Mount Myoboku.

Time passed slowly day by day for the next three months. More than half of these three months were spent in Myoboku for sage training, with the remainder spent on missions, if not with family, mother, Hana, Matsuda, and Misaki.

After half a month while having dinner Mother and Hana were staring at me. I know they were angry, and helpless regarding my training and mission schedule. When I was first informed about special training with toads, they didn accept it at all.

After explaining that my battle powers in Sage mode would amplify by ten times if not more if I could complete training, she reluctantly accepted. Still, there is one more person whom I am not able to amend, and that is Tsunade.

Her pestering extended beyond these three months. Compared to me, she is more irritated about Jirayas training sage mode; this triggered her battle-will and she started complaining to the third Hokage non-stop.

Today I am going to meet grandma Mito with Tsunade. By the time we arrived at her courtyard, she was reading a book while sitting relaxed. A servant is standing next to her ready to serve her.

Tsunade shouted, ”Grandma! ”

Grandma Mito closed the book, handed it over to the servant and looked at us gently, and smiled. We are standing next to her.

She looked at me, ”how are you, Hirata? You seem busy these days? ”

”I apologize for not being able to visit earlier, grandma. ”

She smiled, ”its ok, but don neglect your studies, and don try to hold too much which will only hinder you. Take one step at a time. ”

As expected I can hide anything from her.

”Well it is true I want to see you. But while I am practicing with toads, I have some pent-up questions. So, I thought maybe only you can answer that for me, grandma. ”

Tsunade and grandma Mito looked at me. Since they were silent, I continued, ”You know grandma, I want to become stronger like Hashirama sama. I heard he also has a sage mode, so I want to know more about it. ”
