Chapter 23

“What?”

Alexa widened her eyes and then nodded her head thinking that it was possible.
From what she heard, this was also Terrun’s first outing.
That is enough to make him scared.

Alexa alternately looked at Terrun and Ysu, then tilted her head.
It would be difficult to hold Terrun’s hand while she was also holding Ysu, and they were both afraid….

Ah! Alexa put Ysu in Terrun’s arms.

“U-uh?”

“It will be less scary if you hug each other! Hehe.
This would be fine, right?”

With a relaxed body, she began to lead first.
Terrun and Ysu’s eyes met.

“What are you looking at?”

“Urrrrrrrr.”

Unable to put down Ysu that Alexa gave him, Terrun quickly trotted behind Alexa.

“Let’s go together!”

With Ysildus biting his shoulder as if he was showing he was dissatisfied.

“Come quickly! There are so many things I want to see!”

Alexa was so small that it felt like she would be drowned by the crowd at any moment.
Terrun’s steps began to go faster and faster.

“Wow! Look at this Terrun, doesn’t it look wonderful? This is a common grass called montra, but it was said to be excellent for reducing fever.”

“Hmm.” Terrun nodded.

Ysu held on Terrun’s arms showing disheartened expression, but when he met with Alexa’s eyes, he whined and wagged his tail – as if telling her to rescue him from Terrun right away.
Unfortunately, Alexa was distracted as she looked around at the store without listening to his cries.

“There was also this!”

Alexa walked around the herbal shop, comparing what she had seen in the book with the actual medicine in her head.
There was a big difference in seeing it in person than seeing it in a book.
You can also smell it.

She bought three of the medicines she had in mind before coming to the herbal shop.
She wanted to look around more, but she promised that they would be back before dinner.
Now, she had to stop by the grocery store to buy ingredients for making snacks for the arm dealer and Ysildus.

(T/N: Not literal arm dealer.
This only refers to Terrun holding Ysildus in his arm, which in a literal ‘arm dealer’ lel)

Alexa folded the paper wrapped around the medicine and put it in her pocket.

“Uhm, let’s go look at the weapons now.
I have a lot of money! I’ll buy you anything you want!”

In this life and in her past life, this was the first time, including spending money like this, that Alexa was actually a little excited.
The money the Visten gave her as pocket money was equivalent to her three-month salary, and with it, they could really buy almost anything.

“Is there anything Alexa wants to buy?” Terrun asked slowly.

“Hmm….”

Alexa tapped the growling Ysildus on the bridge of his nose and answered.

“I, have, yes.
Actually… I want to eat the cake sold over there.
I heard the unnies talking about it at the herbal shop earlier, but the cakes were very expensive! They are one gold for three pieces.
But still, should we eat a little if we still have money left?” Alexa said hesitantly.

One gold. Even though it was a big amount for a piece of cake, Terrun didn’t even blink.
Ysu seemed to be pathetic towards Alexa for some reason.

“Uh, is it too expensive?” Alexa faltered.

No matter how much money she received, she didn’t think of spending all that Visten gave her.
Besides, she can’t believe that she would be eating such an expensive cake on top of that!! However, Terrun thought differently.

[‘Alexa will obviously spend a little amount of money.
So if you see that Alexa is hesitating, you buy it instead.
You understand, Terrun?’]

In fact, Terrun had another money pouch on him that he had received from Visten without Alexa’s knowledge.
It seemed like it was only Alexa who didn’t seem to know that this was very trivial that won’t affect the Grand Duchy at all, who was sitting on the cushion of money.

“No! let’s buy a lot of it so we can eat it when we go home.”

“Shall we?”

It was a very tempting offer.
It was only natural for Alexa to be unable to say no from sweet things.

“How do I steal their money pouch?” Selina bit her nails.

Never once did the woman hit Selina, but she was strangely far more frightening than the old woman.
She felt cold goosebumps on her body when she was next to her.
Her whole body was trembling, fearing that she would receive her wrath of disobeying her orders.
However, the children whom the woman assigned for her to steal money pouch from were wearing high-quality clothes and accompanied by knights.

Even if Selina successfully stole the money pouch and ran away, she will obviously be caught sooner.

‘How should I do that….’

Selina’s shoulders that had been overflowing with confidence up until now, were drooping.
Though it still doesn’t change the fact that she has to do it.

Selina took a deep breath and ran out of the alley.
The person who taught her pickpocketing in the past told her that it’s better to bump into that person than to hesitate.

She closed her eyes and decided to go for the boy, and not the girl.
The boy was too preoccupied while looking at the girl.
Those who don’t look forward are likely to be targets.
Moreover, he was different from the girl with his blank and straight expression on his face.

Selina hit on the boy’s shoulder as hard as she could.

“Ack!”

Selina rolled around.

“Terrun, Ysu! Are you alright?”

Thanks to the child who bumped into Terrun, even Ysu fell to the floor.
Alexa was startled and hugged the growling puppy.
She let out a long sigh after checking him making sure he doesn’t have injuries.

“That’s a relief.
You’re not hurt.
That surprised me, Ysu.”

Terrun’s mouth gaped as Alexa only seemed to care about Ysildus.

Terrun stood up holding the hands of the knights who supported him and patted his butt.
He then reached out his hand to the girl who was lying indifferent on the floor; it didn’t mean anything.
She fell down, so he was just helping her to get up.

But the girl, as if she was scared of something, bowed her head while mumbling sorry and thanked him in a small voice before running away.
She vanished quickly like wind before he could even say anything.

“I don’t think she was seriously injured seeing how she ran away.
Terrun, let’s go to the weapon shop first.
You said you wanted to look around there.”

Terrun stared blankly at the back of the girl who had disappeared, then turned his head back at Alexa’s call.

“Yes!”

Terrun followed after Alexa with an expression of immense joy that Alexa showed interest in him.
In doing so, he had lost something and didn’t even feel that his body became lighter.

“What are you going to look at in the weapon shop?”

“I don’t know.
My master said that I should have my own sword soon, so I wanted to look around.”

Come to think of it….
Alexa narrowed her eyes and nodded.

The peerless Sub-Male Lead here grew up to be a good swordsman.
He might me a naughty young boy getting along with Alexa now, but he will be one of the few sword masters on the continent! She thought that there was nothing wrong with showing it to Terrun at this time.

Though it wasn’t Alexa’s money inside her pocket, it was something in the market that Visten could understand even if she spent a lot of money.
In the original story, it was Visten who bought a sword for Terrun.
What’s wrong with Alexa buying that for Terrun in advance? Alexa hummed and walked away.

“Alright, let’s go! Ack!”

Of course, Ysildus wasn’t going to let the two of them go on their own and sit still.
He whined and pulled Alexa’s hair in his mouth.

“Naughty puppy! I will scold you if you’re like this, Ysu!”

“Arf! Arf! Arf!”

Ysildus tapped Alexa’s shoulder with his front paw, as if he was quite upset about being scolded.

“It seems that Ysildus and Terrun are still not close.”

Is it because they don’t live in the same room? Alexa nodded her head as if she made up her mind.

“Here, Terrun! Hug Ysu and go! You will get closer like that.”

Again with this situation. Ysildus and Terrun’s eyes met again.

“Haa.”

“Krrrrng.”

“Alexa, let’s go together.”

Ysildus and Terrun followed after Alexa at once and walked beside her.

“Hmm.
I think the girl took the money bag,” said one of the knights following Alexa.

In fact, they weren’t that unaware that Terrun had been pickpocketed.
She was only an 11-year-old child, and her skills of attacking Terrun were very poor.
They left her alone because they thought that Terrun would be able to avoid it.

Looking at the direction where the pickpocketing little girl went, another knight said, “I also have eyes.
I saw it but I just let it go.”

“Yes?”

“Because the lieutenant told me not to do anything that will surprise Miss Alexa.
He told me that if anything happens, deal with it as quietly as possible without letting Miss Alexa know about it.”

“Isn’t that too generous? It was a bag full of gold after all.”

The senior knight, who was looking at the junior knight, raised his hand to his junior.
