Chapter 111 Heartache

“Brother! The boss was so good, he even gave us a flower basket!” Xiang Xiaoyu smiled sweetly.

“Yeah, when we go back, let’s buy something to eat, too.” Xiang Ning affectionately held her hands.

Her eyes widened, but she remembered their current situation.
“It’s alright, I don’t like fruit.”

Xiang Ning pinched her cheeks as she said that.
She looked at him all innocently, only to see him smile.
“I’m already a millionaire, plus, I saw that you could already use your Mental Power to control objects! Did you break through and become a spiritual cultivator? Don’t you remember what I promised you?”

Looking at his sister, he felt a little heartache.
Even though he had given the best he had to her, he still felt that he needed to give her something more.
His sister, on the other hand, had never complained even once.

Before she even said anything, he whispered to her.
“Now tell me, how much did you spend with the money that I gave you?”

“Hehe, I only spent only two hundred dollars! I didn’t recklessly spend it!” Xiang Xiaoyu puffed up her chest with pride.
She was waiting for him to praise her.
But when she said that, Xiang Ning’s heart tightened.
The two of them suddenly stopped in the middle of the street.
“Brother?” She sensed that something was amiss and panicked when she saw her brother.
This was the first time she had seen him cry.

“Brother! What’s wrong?” Xiang Xiaoyu was anxious.
They grew up together, and even when they were bullied or beaten, Xiang Ning had never once shed a tear.
She didn’t know what to do now because it was her first time seeing him cry.

“Nothing, I got some sand in my eyes.” Xiang Ning tried forcing a smile.
He wiped off his tears, but more uncontrollably streamed out of his eyes.
His chest tightened as his love for her grew.
Half a month, but she only used two hundred dollars! That meant that, on average, she spent around thirteen dollars per day! Could she even fill her belly with that amount of money?

He held his own feelings back.
Before he left for the training, he had given her about twenty thousand dollars.
It may have looked like a lot, but it seems that he couldn’t give her a sense of peace.
That was why she kept saving and only used the money when necessary.
But he swore that she no longer had to hold herself back!

Soon, both of them arrived at the hospital.
After asking around, they found Fatty Wang’s ward.
After knocking on the door, both of them entered to visit him. 

He looked absolutely beaten up.
Bandages wrapped at least a third of his body.
Xiang Ning was worried, but after seeing him watching some videos on his phone, he felt some of the weight lift off his chest.

“Xiang Ning! You’re back!” Fatty Wang saw Xiang Ning and got overexcited.
His wounds started hurting and he grimaced in pain, then Xiang Xiaoyu rushed forward to calm him down.
“Wang Zhe, please lie down.
You’re still hurt.”

Xiang Ning drew out a stool and sat on it, staring at him.

“Brother, let me go wash some fruits.” Xiang Xiaoyu was perceptive, so she wanted to give them some alone time.

Only when they heard the sound of running water did Xiang Ning open his mouth.
“Thank you.” He didn’t really know what to say, but his words were filled with his true feelings. 

Fatty Wang accepted it and replied, “No worries.
I’ll take care of her whenever you aren’t around.”

Xiang Ning didn’t say anything else.
He knew that he was once again indebted to this playful meatball.

“Who hit you until you were this hurt?” Xiang Ning suddenly got serious.
He wasn’t someone that would look for trouble, but both Xiang Xiaoyu and Fatty Wang had been hurt because of him, and he vowed to make sure that whoever did it would pay.

“It’s those damn delinquents from Third School.
Don’t worry, it’s just some superficial wounds.
I even became a martial artist! I felt like I was a war god when I fought all ten of them off,” Fatty Wang proudly boasted. 

Xiang Ning sighed. It’s because you were fighting against ten people, that’s why you were hurt so badly!

“How about you? Are you alright?” Fatty Wang had been worried about him ever since the rumors started being circulated everywhere.
There were even those that wanted to chase him out of school.

Xiang Ning merely shook his head; the rumors don’t affect him the slightest.
“When are you being discharged from the hospital?” He already had a plan to not only avenge his friend, but also obtain a large amount of Fury Points in one go.

“Haha, just relax.
I’ll be out in just a few days.
I’m already a martial artist, so my rate of healing is now very strong,” Fatty Wang laughed.

At that point, Xiang Xiaoyu walked out of the bathroom and talked about everything that had happened that day.

“To think that you’re so strong now! I can’t believe you got first place!” the excited fatty said.
As someone who came from a wealthy family, there were many who had laughed at him for being friends with Xiang Ning.

The three of them talked a bit more before Xiang Ning and his sister left for dinner.
On the way home, he went to the fruit shop uncle and bought tons of fruit.
It was enough for them to eat for half a month.

“Brother! I think we bought too much.” She saw the fruits that they bought and complained, but her eyes betrayed her true thoughts. 

Xiang Ning merely laughed as he held her hands and said, “Let’s eat fruit every day!” Now that he could afford to give her a good life, he was determined to do it.
He would provide for her to the best of his ability!

The siblings soon arrived home.
Xiang Ning cooked dinner while she took a shower, then the two had a happy dinner.

After they washed the dishes, Xiang Xiaoyu went up to bed.
Xiang Ning, on the other hand, needed to head out.

Just as he left, his communicator rang.

“Xiang Ning, where are you?” Fang Rou asked.
After the training, all of them had to undergo a health checkup at Fortress Three.

It was already late noon when they had settled everything.
After coming out they learned that Xiang Ning had headed back to Marsh City, so they hurried back as well.
They also heard about the rumors while they were having their health check.

The four of them had rushed back to Marsh City by nightfall.

Xiang Ning smiled as he heard her voice.
“I’m at home, just about to head to school.”

“Alright, we’re on the way too.
Let’s meet up there.”

“Sure, let’s meet there.” Xiang Ning hung up and couldn’t control his smile.
He was thinking about his rewards all the way to school.
